Bustle is closing tech publication Enter

Bustle Digital Group is closing its tech publication Enter, studies Mark Stenberg of Adweek.

Stenberg writes, “In complete, BDG will lay off 19 staffers, with nearly all of the cuts coming from Mic and impacting principally the editorial staff, in response to an inner electronic mail shared with Adweek. The corporate declined to supply a motive for the layoffs or closure, and it didn’t specify what share of the editorial workforce the cuts symbolize.

“‘BDG has a big portfolio of publications, and we all the time need to be sure that our focus is on the numerous titles which might be working,’ a spokeswoman advised Adweek. ‘On uncommon events, we are going to make adjustments that push assets and focus towards these which might be working finest for us.’

“Staff realized the information over two separate conferences led by Jon Wilde, senior vp of editorial, who oversees the portfolio of internet sites together with Mic, Enter, Inverse and Gawker.”
