Cryptocurrency information web site CoinDesk has named Brad Keoun its managing editor for tech and protocols.
He had been managing editor for markets, which can now be overseen by James Rubin and Omkar Godbole.
Keoun has been with CoinDesk for 3 and a half years. He beforehand was senior international finance and economics correspondent at TheStreet.com.
A longtime reporter for Bloomberg Information, he was a lead reporter for its investigation into the Federal Reserve’s secret emergency loans throughout the monetary disaster in addition to its protection for the “London Whale” buying and selling scandal in 2012. Each tales had been finalists for a Loeb Award, the highest prize in enterprise journalism.
He’s a previous recipient of the Investigative Reporters and Editors Freedom of Info Award and the Society of Skilled Journalists Award for Public Service in On-line Journalism.
Previous to Bloomberg, Keoun was a reporter for the Chicago Tribune and the Gainesville (Fla.) Solar.
