Kelley Root, the manager editor of Crain’s Detroit Enterprise, is leaving the publication to discover new alternatives.
Her final day is Sept. 2. She joined the publication in March 2020.
Root was beforehand at The Detroit Information, and was named managing editor in 2019. She held a collection of senior editor roles since becoming a member of The Information in 2004. She had been metro editor, a stint that included supervising the reporting crew overlaying Detroit’s chapter, which gained a number of nationwide and native journalism awards.
She beforehand spent 15 years on the Grand Rapids Press as a reporter and assistant metropolis editor.
