FAA opens probe into United Airways emergency touchdown at Newark after aircraft sparked

The Federal Aviation Administration has launched an investigation after a United Airways jet was compelled to make an emergency touchdown when a bathe of sparks flew off and particles fell to the bottom moments after taking off from Newark Airport.

Aircraft spotter Hayden Smith caught the dramatic second on digital camera from the bottom.
