MANILA, Philippines–Barangay Ginebra’s Scottie Thompson moved into competition for the coveted Most Beneficial Participant of the PBA’s forty seventh season after climbing into second place following his crew’s Commissioner’s Cup conquest.
Thompson leapfrogged San Miguel Beer’s CJ Perez for second place with 24.9 statistical factors on the finish of the midseason event that noticed the Gin Kings beat the visitor crew Bay Space Dragons for the title.
San Miguel’s June Mar Fajardo stays on prime of the derby by a distant margin with 28.9 statistical factors because the chase for the coveted plum is now being contested by the final two MVP winners.
Thompson bagged his first MVP final season whereas Fajardo gained its six consecutive occasions between 2014 to 2019. The award was not handed out throughout the pandemic-shortened 2020 season.
