Universities will go bust if overseas college students barred, authorities adviser warns

Universities will go bankrupt if the federal government shuts out overseas college students in a frantic bid to chop immigration, an adviser has warned – with poorer areas most in danger.

The chair of the Migration Advisory Committee raised the alarm after No 10 – below pressure from Tory MPs to act on rising numbers – stated it’s exploring excluding abroad college students from “low-quality” levels.

One suggestion is they might solely be allowed a spot at an “elite” college, which might imply solely London, Cambridge and Oxford, Brian Bell stated.
