Samsung, SoftBank Chiefs Set to Talk about Potential Partnership Involving Chip Designer Arm

SEOUL—Samsung de facto chief Lee Jae-yong and SoftBank Group Chief Government Masayoshi Son are set to fulfill in Seoul subsequent month to debate a possible partnership involving chip designer Arm Ltd., in what may turn into a powerhouse union between two of the world’s semiconductor giants.

Mr. Son mentioned Thursday that he would go to South Korea to fulfill with Samsung Electronics Co. a couple of strategic alliance with Arm, which is owned by SoftBank, the Japanese conglomerate.
