Russia Deploys Hypersonic Missiles to Its Baltic Exclave


MOSCOW — The Russian army stated Thursday that it has deployed warplanes armed with state-of-the-art hypersonic missiles to the nation’s Kaliningrad area, a transfer that comes amid hovering tensions with the West over Moscow’s motion in Ukraine.

Russia’s Protection Ministry stated three MiG-31 fighters with Kinzhal hypersonic missiles arrived on the Chkalovsk airbase within the Baltic Sea enclave as a part of “extra measures of strategic deterrence.”
